About Open Poker
A new kind of poker platform
Open Poker is a free discovery platform for poker content. We index and organize thousands of poker shows in one place — without hosting, re-uploading, or monetizing the content itself.
How It Works
Poker content lives on YouTube. Thousands of hours of live streams, tournament coverage, cash games, and vlogs are published every week by productions like Hustler Casino Live, Live at the Bike, the World Poker Tour, and hundreds of independent creators. The content is already free and public.
What doesn't exist is a single place to discover, browse, and watch all of that content. No single destination brings it together — until now.
That's Open Poker. We embed YouTube videos using the official YouTube iFrame API — the same mechanism YouTube provides for any website to embed public content. The video plays from YouTube's servers. The creator's channel, their subscribers, their view counts, and their ad revenue are completely unaffected.
Creator-First Principles
Your revenue is untouched
Open Poker does not host, re-upload, transcode, or serve your video files. All views register on YouTube. Your AdSense revenue, YouTube Premium revenue, and channel analytics are completely unaffected. We make zero dollars from your content delivery.
Your audience grows
Every video on Open Poker links directly to your YouTube channel. Viewers who discover your content here become your subscribers. We're a discovery layer, not a walled garden.
Full opt-out available
Don't want your content on Open Poker? We respect that completely. Submit an opt-out request and we'll remove your channel within 48 hours. No questions asked. No hoops.
YouTube Terms of Service Compliance
Open Poker embeds YouTube content exclusively through the official YouTube iFrame Player API, in full compliance with YouTube's Terms of Service and API Terms of Service.
- We use only the official embed mechanism — no scraping, downloading, or re-hosting
- We do not modify, overlay, or obscure YouTube's player controls or branding
- We do not circumvent age restrictions or geographic limitations
- We do not extract or redistribute video files in any format
- Videos that cannot be embedded (restricted by the uploader) are not forced — we show a "Watch on YouTube" link instead
The legality of embedding public YouTube content via the official iFrame API is well-established. See Perfect 10, Inc. v. Amazon.com, Inc. (9th Cir. 2007) — embedding content hosted on a third-party server does not constitute copyright infringement under the "server test."
DMCA Compliance
Open Poker complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request.
Important: Because Open Poker embeds YouTube videos rather than hosting them, the most effective way to address copyright concerns is to file a DMCA takedown directly with YouTube. Removing the video from YouTube automatically removes it from Open Poker.
If you wish to request removal of your content's listing from the Open Poker catalog (metadata, timestamps, and the embed reference — not the video file itself, which we do not host), please use our takedown request form.
How Open Poker Will Make Money
Open Poker is currently free with no monetization. We're focused on building the best poker content experience before introducing any revenue model.
When we do monetize, the plan is:
- Optional premium features for viewers (enhanced tools, not content access)
- Content will always be free to browse and watch
What we will never do:
- Run ads on or around embedded videos
- Charge viewers to watch content
- Take a cut of creator ad revenue
- License, sublicense, or redistribute video content
- Claim ownership of any creator's intellectual property
For Creators
Open Poker indexes publicly available poker content. If you're a content creator and would like to discuss featuring your content with enhanced placement or tools, we'd love to hear from you.
